Prof. Kraus is a pioneer of AI in Israel and a key figure who has shaped the computing landscape over the past decades. She served as the Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences at Bar-Ilan University and is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Her scientific contributions have earned her the prestigious EMET Prize, along with top honors from the ACM and IJCAI. Notably, Kraus was the first Israeli to be elected as a AAAI Fellow. Her research is renowned for bridging the gap between theory and real-world application—from optimizing security systems at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to collaborations aimed at streamlining healthcare systems.

    The Intelligent Agents Lab

In a world where algorithms increasingly make decisions for us, the key question is no longer just how "smart" a computer is, but how "social" it can be. The transition from systems that execute commands to those that manage relationships defines the frontier of Artificial Intelligence today. This is where Prof. Sarit Kraus, a world-renowned researcher in multi-agent systems and Professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Bar-Ilan University, focuses her work. By integrating game theory with advanced computational models and learning models (including LLMs), she develops intelligent agents capable of learning, adapting, and managing complex interactions in multi-participant environments.

    Primary Research Areas:

    • Multi-Agent Systems

    • Automated Negotiation

    • Human-Agent Interaction

    • AI and Security

    • Large Language Models (LLMs)

    Research Nature:

Theoretical–Applied: Spanning from game theory to functional systems in the real world.

    Career Path:

Graduates of the lab hold key positions at the forefront of technology:

    • Industry: Data scientists, AI engineers, and research leads in global tech companies.

    • Academia: Researchers and faculty members at leading universities worldwide.

    • Entrepreneurship: Founders of startups and R&D leaders in cybersecurity, digital health, and robotics.
